This guard assembly is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer for Black and Decker trimmers and edgers. It is a high quality left-hand side guard that helps to direct the grass clippings away from the user. Please note the hardware to secure it and the right-hand side guard are all sold separately. This part is made from durable plastic material and it is sold individually, replacing it you will need a Phillips head screwdriver.

The assembly repair was simple. I attached the two-piece guard assembly to the grass trimmer by snapping both pieces together. The screw was already included on the guard assembly. Used a Phillips screwdriver to tighten. Assembly took about 5 minutes.

Used a screwdriver to undo old parts. Snapped the new guard assembly on and tightened with the new screw that comes with the right side. Very simple to do. Both parts fit together perfectly.

Guard affixed to trimmer had broken off leaving a gap and string was clogging the trimmer.

Removed the old guard (watched you tube video) and then installed the replacement one. Only needed a screwdriver to replace the guard. This is an easy repair.

One side of the safety shield was broken

- Removed both sides of the old safety guard from the slots in the housing
- Inserted both sides of the new safety guard in slots in the housing
- Screwed both halves of the safety shield together using the one screw that was provided

Need a new Left and Right Guard Assembly & spool cover broken

Assemble the two guard halves in front of the trimmer, then screw the two pieces together behind the trimmer head. Then just press the spool cover into place.
