Question: Lack Of Power

I replaced the original reel assembly with a universal quick line replacement. Now I have lack of power to the trimmer assembly. The edger works great with the edger attachment. I replace the trimmer attachment back to the original assembly still no power. I believe it's the gear box assembly. Any ideas?
Question: Gearbox Assembly

Can I order a straight gear box instead of the angled gear box? The one I ordered did not last but one season

Hello cote1966,

I don't think another gearbox assembly would work on a different model trimmer other than the one it has in the parts diagram. It may not connect correctly with the model you have.

Question: Gear Box Assembly

this may be a really dumb comment- I am assuming that the gears and ball bearing are inside the part as shown and are included in the assembly price. Is this correct?

Hello 1151943,

Your assumption is correct. All the gears and bearings are included in the 753-06571 gear box assembly.

Is this part the same as 753-06571 that is used on a Craftsman weed trimmer? The part looks the same but that doesn't mean much.

Hello jriggen,

You can consider yourself safe in ordering part number 753-06571 for your Craftsman trimmer. It's probably made for Sears by the company that manufactured that one.
