Product Information
Description:
This is a genuine OEM replacement part, it is sold individually. The purpose of the Fuel Pick--Up Line with Filter is to provide fuel into the carburetor via the primer bulb. The filter is situated inside the fuel tank, with the fuel line extending through an existing hole in the fuel tank. It is then connected to the primer bulb which will purge the air out of the carburetor. By pressing the primmer bulb it will fill the carburetor with fuel, once it is full the excess fuel will be forced back into the tank through the fuel return line. Over time the fuel filter will be come clogged with debris and will have to be changed. |

You must cut the filter off of the tube, then cut the ends of the tube on a angle to be able to get the hose through the hole of the gas tank.
Using a utility knife, cut the tube off of the filter, then cut the ends of the tube on a angle. Insert one end into the gas tank as far as you can leaving only about 1/2 inch sticking out. Reach in with an extra long needle nose pliers and pull the tube out of the tank at the fill opening. replace the filter on to the tube, keeping in mind that it is not easy to do. Push the tube back into the tank and then pull enough tube back out of the tank to be able to push it onto the pick-up port. Cutting the ends of the tube on a angle makes it much easier to get it into the hole and onto the pick-up port.

Fuel line should have not had filter pre-installed
Kit came with the filter installed on fuel line, Cut off at the nipple of fuel filter and run line from the outside of tank down thru tank. Use a small piece of wire that you turn into a U at the end of wire, (About 3/8" shaped U) with some needle nose pliers)! As you push line down from outside of tank about 3 to 4 inches. Stop there and stick 3/8" U shaped wire down thru fuel neck and (feed fuel line) downward and grab with inserted wire through fuel neck and work the line up to fuel filler neck. Grab line and install filter and pull line down until fuel filter lays on bottom of inside of tank! Pretty easy if you can visualize and use common sense!

Cracked due to age
This repair is a little more complicated than the return line. I was hoping that the filter came unattached as it would have been easier to insert the fuel into the tank & then reached in & grab the fuel line. I determined from the internet that the end of the line should be cut at an angle. I then inserted the line into the tank & maneuvered it toward the hole. I then used a small drill bit to work the fuel line up thru the hole enough to grab it with pliers. I pulled enough fuel line thru to connected it to the carb & then dropped the fuel filter end into the tank.

The hose to the gas pickup filter was broken and later the stub on the filter.
Removed the filter from the tank. Ordered a new one from eReplacementParts which arrived in about three days! Installed the new part and was good to go. Wish I had known about eReplacementParts a while back when fixing some other gardening equipment.

Worked as expected
Do yourself a favor and cut the bare end of the tubing at a 45-degree angle. That way you can get the tube fed through the hold to the outside. Once it is pulled through just cut it off flat again so you can attach the line.
