Discussion for the Flex L1106VE 5" Variable Speed Sander/Polisher Polisher
Does anyone know how to separate the armature/pinion from the gear housing on a Flex L1106VE? Most grinders can be pulled apart by hand at this point, but the Flex is proving very stubborn. Is there a retaining ring, pressed bearing, etc.?
There is a plate that holds the armature to the gearbox. The plate is item #3 on the parts breakdown. It is held in place by the screws #16 on the breakdown. remove the two screws and the armature will release from the gearbox.
Does anyone know how to separate the armature/bevel gear from the gear housing head on a Flez L1106? Other angle grinders I've repaired such as Makita and Metabo pull apart by hand. I cannot tell if the armature is pressed into the gear housing, there is a retaining ring, or if I'm just not putting enough pressure on it. Thanks for your help.
