This is a genuine Black and Decker replacement part, it is sold individually.
The 5147239-00 works in conjunction with the 5147238-00 Prefiter.
It will collect the dust and debris that the Prefilter was not able to gather.
It will catch the dust and small debris from entering the motor and damaging it.
Once this filter becomes dirty and clogged it should be discarded, and replaced with a new one.

Removed the old filter
Installed new filter.
Closed the port that hols the filter
Replaced vacuum in it's charging stand.
Probably took longer to type this than it did to do the task!!

No tools. Just snapped on new parts by hand.
Previously replaced motor and battery assembly. Only tools needed were small cross slot screwdrivers and nut runners. Difficulty was moderate following exploded assembly drawing of product. Had one problem figuring out sequence of reassembly.
I am a decorative game bird carver. I use the PHV 1800 for small cleanups of wood dust & chips and brass filings - much handier than hauling out shop vac & saves space in my small work area.
