it and after about 10 minutes the motor failed again because the
motor shaft and belt sprocket bent! Wrecked the motor innards
as a result and melted the drive belt. Went back for more parts and eReplacementparts.com replaced all the damaged parts and shipped them FREE of CHARGE! Who does that these days.
Agent was as good as gold. 2nd time all seems well so far.
eReplacementparts does not make the parts, in this case they come from DeWalt. They seem to be capable of supplying lousy parts : motor shaft bent under belt load! What is that! Not so crazy about DeWalt anymore as a result. eReplacementparts is
fantastic though.

Most difficult part was moving the spring clips from the old to the new fan housing.
The spring clips are quite stiff and I needed a pair of needle-nose pliers to pry the
springs off the old housing without ruining them. Make sure the springs are in the
correct position BEFORE screwing the back half of the housing to the motor frame
otherwise you won't be able to snap the front half of the housing in place.
Repair went well and after a short test, the planer was dust free.
