    Remove the cover to the compressor and pop the old fan off with a screw driver. Place the new fan in place and gently tap it on with a hammer until it is flush with the shaft. No set screws to worry about..

    2. Drilled the broken fan blade
    3. Pulled the fan blade off
    4. Tapped the new fan blade on with a hammer
    5. Installed the guard

    1. Remove motor housing
    2. Remove fan using large screw-driver to pry old fan off the motor spindle
    3. Put on new fan using rubber mallet to seat the fan
    4. Loosen filter cover by hand, install new filter
    5. Replace motor housing

    Compressor motor was sparking and would not run consistently

    1. Removed the plastic covers
    2. Removed and replaced the fan and brushes per instructions
    3. The lead crimp connectors were missing from the brush kit so I had to make two crimp connectors
    4. Connected the brushes to the wiring
    Unfortunately this didn’t fix the problem because the motor still overheated and would quit running. I had to replace the compressor.

    Remove protective shroud from motor / compressor assembly.
    Pried broken plastic fan from motor using a screwdriver
    Installed new fan using rubber mallet.
    Reinstalled shroud.
    Easy, straightforward repair, new fan fit perfectly.

    shrouds melted from over heating belt

    The cooling fan on my Dewalt compressor broke

    Parts Used
    First I removed the plastic cover from the compressor. ( it is a lot easier to remove the cover by taking of one of the wheels). You'll need a long star screw driver for that. Next . I used a puller to remove the damaged fan. (You can also brake it to remove). Ones you have done that you can install the new fan by hand first and finish by tapping with a rubber hammer and just put everything back together
