This part is an OEM from Craftsman for use with Craftsman Lawn Mowers. The engine zone control cable stops the engine when you let go of the handle. The most common reason for replacing the control cable is if it is broken, causing the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. This part is sold individually. The tool that you will need to replace the engine zone control cable is pliers.

Removed old cable by prying handle bar retainer clip off with screwdriver. Snapped new cable with retainer into place and tied to handle with a couple of plastic wire ties.

Used pliers to remove the clip on the engine, a screwdriver to pry off the mounting clip on the handle bar. I used a zip tie I had on hand to keep the wire attached to the handle bar.
