Question: SRM 210 Trimmer
I bought a new spool of line, installed two pieces, but they would not stay in. As soon as I started the engine, the two pieces of line flew out.

Hi gatefixr It may be time to invest in a new string head for the machine.
This is a pretty good one! (taken from the above listings)
Question: Will Not Start
Have a Echo SRM 210. Replaced fuel lines, fuel filter, new carburator. new air filter and new spark plug. There is spark at the plug, but unit will not start.
Reply: Will Not Start
Hello Mister Those repairs are all good. It leads me to believe there may be an actual mechanical problem with the Echo. I have seen some strange problems develop on them. How old is your unit? You may have low compression due to a stuck piston ring. You may also have a dirty spark arrestor screen in the muffler or a carboned up exhaust port and/or muffler. I have seen the flywheels on Echos go bad as well. They are cast aluminum and sometimes the built in key that holds them in place wears and the engine loses time...just enough so a no start occurs. Weak magnets on them have been noted as link removed a weak spark. Pull your muffler and inspect screen and exhaust port. Why it is off, pull starter and move the piston to where you can see the ring. Pry on it a little to check to see if it is stuck. Low compression will cause a no start as well and a stuck ring lowers compression.
The problems I just mentioned were found in fact on an Echo SRM-210.
Question: Wja I Am Calling You
WJA Can you guys PLEASE fix the "search forum" feature on here where all users can open and READ the threads? Now, all we get is the title of the the thread. The SERVER on here for those searched threads is NEVER able to be found. Please fix this great feature. It would HELP everyone who comes to this site looking for HELP! Thanks.

I want it up and running as bad as you and everyone else. If I knew what keys to punch I would do it. I'll keep on the people that fix these problems for us, until it's fixed.

HI WJA That is all I can ask for I guess! When was the last time the "Search Forum" worked properly? If you speak to the webmaster, you may want to mention there appears to be a SERVER problem when trying to access that function. Thanks for the reply and the help!
Question: Trimmer Head
i need the trimmer head the part the line comes out of cant find it
Reply: Trimmer Head
The trimmer head you can use for your Echo SRM-210 is part number 21560070 SRM Echomatic Head. It comes as a complete assembly. All you need to do is thread it on to the end of the spindle.
Hope this helps,
Question: Cutting Off When Rotating Unit
the item will cut off if i turn it over but will keep running if ii rotate it fast and keep it upside down,
Reply: Cutting Off When Rotating Unit
You may want to clean your carburetor, it may have a clogged spot in one of its fuel passages. We have an article and video showing the proper way to do this. Here is a link to it. How to Clean a 2 Cycle Engine Carburetor. And while you have it apart you may want to order the repair kit, part number P005000950.
Hope this helps,
Question: String Trimmer
My 15 year old unknowingly filled my string trimmer with regular gas. What must I do to reverse the problem of the thing not running?
Reply: String Trimmer
Unfortunately once a 2 cycle engine seizes up the only way to repair it is to replace the SB1065 short block. If yours did not seize up you will have to tear it down completely, check the cylinder walls and piston for any scoring. If any scoring can be seen the short block will still have to be replaced. If it all looks okay make sure you lube the internal parts. Then make sure you get all of the gas out of the carburetor. It would be a good idea to put in a P005000950 repair kit in while you have your carburetor off.
Good luck & I hope this helps,
Question: H Needle Setting
These things are set "lean" per EPA regs. If you access the H needle, and clean it to remove it; what is the optimal setting for it? Too many turns out, I have encountered flooding and too far turned in, extremely lean and carb dies running.
Reply: H Needle Setting
This looks to be a really nice forum. Professional and neat...BUT...it is dead, nobody responds to any questions...weird.
about your question on the needle screw adjust...your calling it "H" as opposed to "L" right ?? that stands for 'H'igh or 'L'ow rpm's.adjustment of air flow. the near correct setting is about one and one half turns ...1 1/2...out from snug clockwise..dont over tighten , you could bend the tip.
While the motor is running at a slightly high idle turn the H screw inward clockwise slowly and listen for an increase in rpm's ,,faster,, keep going clockwise till this sound begins to drops back off,, then turn the screw back counter wise till you get that high pitch again.. that should be good for the high idle... Do the same with L screw for low idle while motor is running slow or idleing... hope this helps someone...and hope I am addressing the correct subject( screw in question)..
I have to say that I just noticed that this post is not as old as I thought ,,the date I saw in June is actually the join date of your account...lol
Question: Roller Guide
I can not find a diagram that shows where to place the Guide Roller for my SRM-210. Can you help me with this?
Reply: Roller Guide
I have the same question can someone help?
Reply: Roller Guide
I think the roller guide is placed inside the throttle bire (with plastic throttle linkage and rotor and spring removed) on the end of the steel pin that is extruding horizontally into the bore, It is VERY small and very easy to lose, and it is made of chromed steel.
Question: Carberator Flooding
Good little machine but the carburetor keeps flooding when I accelerate to edge. Any adjustments I can make?
Reply: Carberator Flooding
I've had my SRM-210 for years. Never had problems until I had to hire someone to work my yard for a year. He had the carb over adjusted - the head would spin without depressing the gas. What I did was back out the screw just until the head quit spinning. Now if I could fix the other problems....
