Product Description ?

This is a genuine manufacturer-supplied component which is specially designed for walk-behind lawn mowers. The drive cable stops the engine when you let go of the handle. When the brake cable is damaged or broken, the mower becomes temporarily inoperable so the cable needs to be replaced. This high-quality rubber insulated drive cable is sold individually. Please make sure to check the owners manual and the diagrams of your model for the correct installation of the new component. You may need a screwdriver and pliers to perform this repair.

Perfect fit on an older mower!
Arrived quickly and fit perfectly on my old Troybilt walk behind. In the past i'd have to find something close and modify it. Great to just unwrap and install!

I used 1/4" copper tubing to remove the ignition cable. The I used a screwdriver to remove the clutch cable. The shorter copper tubing was used to remove the clutch control then reassembled.

Cables were frozen. Front wheels were bare (self propelled didn't work too good)

Replaced the cables, and replaced the wheels. Had to do some disassembly of the front of the mower to expose the mechanism for the self propelled. Also, I suggest replacing both cables at once. The drive engage has a bracket that holds the engine control. I mistakenly replace the engine control first and then had to undo it to replace the drive control (which has the bracket for the other built in). Anyway, if you do both at once, you shouldn't have a problem.
