    Drain remaining oil, remove cover, clean and remove any left over of the old gasket, replace gasket and crankcase cover and add new oil.

    Replaced cracked crankcase cover

    I had to replace the crankcase cover after I cracked it by apparently overtightening the oil drain bolt. The bolt was very hard to tighten all the way through, so it was difficult to tell when it was seated. The replacement cover and bolt had the same problem. I wonder if there is some machining defect with the crankcase cover threads. In any case, I tightened the new bolt to the new cover reasonably well, but I left some thread showing, since I really didn't want it to crack again. So far, I haven't seen any leaks.

    I had tightened the oil drain plug to mucj,so had to replace crankcase cover to stop leakage beacuse of crack made.

    Dumped oil,removed cracked crankcase cover gasket.replaced with new items,assembled with regular force ,not excessive force. Pleaced all bolts at same time,sealed crankcase,added oil. Good to go.
