I took about the tool and changed the switch and speed control. But I found that it had the same problem. so I took out the brushes and found out one was not contacting the Stator. so I took the rest of the tool apart and cleaned the copper contact and made sure the brushes fit properly. I assembled the tool and it works great. I really don't know if I needed the switch and speed control but since I bought it I installed. Easy fix if you know a little about electric motors.
