My makita ls1013L would not plunge down.

My Makita LS1013L would not plunge down smoothly. If you "helped" the guard get started, it would work plunge easier.
I pretty much replaced everything that is related to the guard and how the saw plunges from a resting position. Nothing helped. I believe I narrowed it down to the bushing on the arm that flips the guard up and out of the way. If you look at this schematic, it is item #27, Fig. 27, Ring 6, item #257163-5.
