Product Description ?

The plastic catch attaches to the spring and the motor housing and helps to join together both sides of the motor housing. This is an OEM replacement part that is used in Black and Decker blower vacs and leaf hogs. A screwdriver may be needed when replacing this part which is available individually.

    Use screwdriver to separate housing. Remove piece of old latch. Replace with new latch being sure to place spring over bottom of new latch and reconnect the two halves of the housing. Job done.

    1. I removed the 10 screws with a screwdriver marked DX-15.
    2. Separated the two halves of the outer case.
    3. Removed the spring from the broken Catch.
    4. Reinstalled the spring on the new Catch.
    5. Inserted the new Catch with spring.
    6. Positioned the two halves of the case together. ( not any problems aligning the two halves ! 7. Reinstalled the 10 screws. ( very easy and very quick )
    Note: At the very low price of the catch, I had ordered 3 Catches in case I break another one.

    Catch broke that locks in the blower and vacuum attachment.

    , Torx bit to remove self tapping screws.

    Parts Used
    Removed the 10 screws while blower was laying on its side on the table. Removed broken catch and installed into place insuring spring was seated properly. Made sure power switch toggle was hooked correctly into sliding switch (plastic piece that may have popped out of place when case halves were split). Replaced halves together and tightened screws back down to secure the case.

    I laid the blower on the side to access 8 star screws that needs removed to separated the housing. The latch lays in a groove. It does have a spring on the bottom end. I simply lifted the latch out, put the spring on the new latch put it in place, snapped the housing back together and screwed it. A very easy task.

    3. Replaced the latch
    4. Closed blower
    5. Screwed screws back into place

    The catch was broken, the fan worn after about 12 years

    For fan removed nut installed new fan and nut, about 2 minutes!
    Removed 11 Torx screws, replaced catch making sure all moving parts remained in correct position. Replaced 11 screws with a "T15 Torx Screw driver 6".
    Easy as pie, works like a charm Thanks for quick delivery of parts to our US relatives for pickup just before our visit to Columbus WI.

    Put new catch and slider in and changed fan blade while working on it, by removing the housing removing the nut and reversing the order to put it back together.

    Catch Clip broke that holds the blower and or the vacuum on to the unit.

    1. Removed about 9 torx screws in the unit.
    2. Carefully open up the unit and removed the catch part. Note: The catch part had a spring attached to the bottom, Used the spring in the new catch.
    3. Replaced the Catch. Note the Catch is connected to the switch, it took some time to figure out the set up.
    4. Closed up the unit, and put a couple of screws, tried the unit, it worked, then put back all of the other torx screws.
