It is the special spacer that is utilized to provide a tight seal between the cast control mechanism components. Over time the material may wear out and begin to crack eventually requiring a replacement. Note, this item is made of a durable material and is sold as an individual component. Check the diagrams of your model for the exact location and the correct installation of this cast control spacer. You will need a screwdriver to take the reel apart when performing this repair.

Torium 50 reel: replace the cast control system

, fingers were the only tools required
1)noticed the cast control cap and its contents missing from the reel???!!!
2)discovered eReplacement parts and life(for me and the reel) immediately improved
3)via their reel diagrams and tech support I was able to purchase original factory replacement parts
4)parts arrived amazingly fast
5)5 minutes later my reel is back in action!!!all it took was my fingers to insert the working parts into the inside of the cap and screw the cap on!!!

This reel is about 13 years old, so the handle & the drag click needed to be replaced.

I took the reel apart & cleaned, oiled & greased it. I installed the new parts when I reassembled the reel. It now works like new.

remove handle nut ,remove reel handle ,then remove all tension washers and spacers then install new parts
