Product Information
Description:
This genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed for use with lawn and garden equipment engines. The purpose of a carburetor is to mix air and gas before the fuel mix goes to the engine. If the engine won\'t start and the tank is full of fresh fuel, test the carburetor by removing the air filter and pouring about a teaspoon of fuel into the carburetor. Pull the starter rope. If the engine starts and then quickly dies, the carburetor is likely the problem. When replacing carburetor it is advised that you also replace carburetor gaskets to ensure proper air tight seal for optimum performance. You will need a screwdriver to perform this repair. |

The lawn mower engine was surging and not idling smooth.
I removed the original carburetor, disassembled it, and cleaned it up. There are no idle nor speed adjustment screws. I put the carburetor back on the engine and may not have reinstalled the gaskets, space, and air baffle in the correct order. I found a new carburetor on the internet and ordered it. When it arrived, I finally had a good day to install it. I had incorrectly installed the proper sequence of gaskets, spacer, and air baffle. For this particular Honda small engine, the proper sequence of reinstalling gaskets, spacer, air baffle are as follows: gasket on intake port of engine, spacer with the inside chamfer toward intake port, gasket, air baffle, gasket, carburetor with linkage and spring attached, gasket to air cleaner. This is all held in place with two large 10mm bolts into the engine. Put air filter in air cleaner, and gas in the gas tank, and pulled the starter rope. The engine runs fine and cuts the grass. Thanks for such a good price on the new carburetor.

Engine would surge while running
I watched the you tube video on replacing a Honda carburetor. After I watch it, I was able to replace all of the other parts that I had ordered. Here is a copy of the video that was so helpful to me. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D32zXNYSxmw

Surging
1. Turn off gasoline stopcock and remove gas line from carburetor.
2. Remove air filter.
3. Remove two bolts behind air cleaner, taking care to keep all 10 or so layers of the carburetor held together with one hand while removing bolts with the other. Note or photograph the orientation of throttle and choke controls on the carburetor as you remove them.
4. Unstack the various layers of carburetor and gaskets, taking video or snap shots along the way to remember order and orientation.
5. Substitute new carburetor with old carburetor and resemble in reverse order as before.
Be careful to reassemble throttle cable if it needed to be removed along the way to disassembly. Watch especially for orientation of choke valve to choke switch as you reassemble.

Replace carburetor
I watched the video that was on the web site for this project. The video stayed very small and hard to see but I found the same one on YouTube and it made it all clear and easy to do.
Would have been helpful to know the bolts were metric but not a big deal I guess unless you don't have a metric set of sockets. I believe it is a 10mm
Really glad I did it myself. It save my a couple of hundred dollars plus it feels good to do it yourself.

Inexpensive Cure for an Annoying Problem
My lawnmower engine started suffering from a surging problem (repetitive speed increasing and decreasing). I viewed some YouTube videos that said the carburetor needed to be cleaned. I attempted this without success. Then I found that eReplacementParts had an entirely new carburetor for only 16 bucks! Now the engine works just fine!

Excellent group of parts
I ordered this carburetor for my 160 GVC lawn mower with the assorted gaskets needed for full replacement. My order arrived within a few days and was complete with no issues. You did not list the exact model number for my engine but this was a general replacement. It was slightly different from my original but still worked as expected with no complications except for re-inserting the main bolts and replacing the parts in correct order, no real problem just nit picking. I watched a video for this motor and had no problems doing the work, just make sure you pay close attention to their original orientation and the correct gasket in the correct order. I also ordered an air filter main body and apparently selected the wrong one, however with a minor modification no problem with it working. Overall very satisfied with my order and response.
