Product Information

Description:

This authentic replacement traction cable is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer for use on Toro lawn mowers. The traction cable engages drive wheels on the lawn mowers. It is connected to the traction bail and then attached to the traction bracket near the transmission. Please note, this cable is sold individually.

To complete this repair you will need a socket wrench set.

• Note the position of the old traction cable
• Remove the nut and washer securing the cable to the bracket
• Slip out the end of the cable from the traction control handle
• Release the old traction cable from where it is secured
• Move the machine on its side if the cable is secured beneath the machine
• Release the spring bolt from the transmission bracket
• Pull the old traction cable out
• Secure the new cable in place
• Reassemble and test the unit

The cable for the personal pace self propelled broke

1. Removed old cable by loosening the bolt securing it to the handle.
2. Unhooked the old cable from the underside.

Followed reverse process to attach new cable

Every part you sent worked perfectly.

Looked where the old cable went took it off and installed the new one the same way. The drive tire was removed lined up the new and it went on with no problem.

The self-propelled cable broke.

I removed the old cable, noting how it was connected on both ends.
I installed the new cable exactly like the one I had removed.
Started the mower to check that it was working properly - and Voila.
It was simple and I saved the labor cost by doing it myself.

1. Disconnected spark plug, removed rear wheels
2. Removed protective shrouds under mower deck.
3. Removed broken cable.
4. Installed new cable.
5. Replaced shrouds and rear wheels.
6. Connected spark plug.
