Lack of power (carb) and blade cable broken

Carb diaphragm replaced easily (5 screws on side of carb)..
Jet needle then needed adjustment (trial-and-error to get most power).
Blade cable was a direct replacement of OEM part -- very easy.
Now my mower is as good as new.

Cable broke about 5 inches from the spring.

Attached the cable latch then removed the end nut and threaded it through the frame stationary hole to the spring hole. The cable will not reach the spring hole without moving the flexible hole toward the cable with the screwdriver.

I made notes on how the old cable was installed. Then with the notes I replaced the old cable and installed the new cable.
