Kirby G5 fill hose was split and temporary duct tape repaired had failed.
1. Watched videos like Kirby enthusiast on how to take the bag off emtor.
2. Detached top of bag, inside, from loop of adapter. Used screw driver and towel to carefully release the bag clamp at emtor. Saved for later. Unfolded bottom of bag and removed from emtor. Cut shrink tape, cable ties off hose ends. Untwisted hose from emtor and adapter end.
3. Cleaned everything thoroughly as there was impacted filth in emtor. In hindsight, I would have bought whole assembly with emtor and bag as both are worn, or just send in Kirby for rebuild but cannot live without a vacuum.
4. Screwed hose on clean, dry emtor first (it stayed by itself when tugged) and secured w/ 2 cable/zip ties, 1 for Kirby 2.99 and 1 from bag of 11" zip ties (3.99 for 20).
5. Then screwed other end onto adapter but it kept falling off. Secured that end with a zip tie as well, with someone's help as it needed tightened just so. Face the adapter to back so it is accessible through Kirby bag zipper.
6. Reassembled bag and clamp to emtor. Etc.

Fill tube had split, causing lots of dust to become impacted in the cloth bag.
I opened the cloth bag; removed the disposable bag and fill tube top. I then removed the fill tube from inside of the vacuum, cleaned out the accumulated debris from the cloth bag (which took the most time), then installed the new fill tube using pliers to secure the tie, reconnected it to the top unit, then re-installed the disposable bag and closed the cloth bag. My 45 year old Kirby is running like new, with much increased suction. Thanks, EReplacement parts, for the perfect solution to my problem once again.

I just slowly took everything broken off of the vacuum and replaced the parts. Worked like a charm. I will keep my Kirby going as long as I can get parts that need to be replaced! This was cake finding the right parts, fast shipment, and perfect result. This place is great!

It’s a cable tie
Zipped closed easily, stays closed as expected. Terrific!

Just like the original factory part.
This arrived in perfect condition and fit my vacuum perfectly. Installation was quite a chore as I have carpal tunnel and severe arthritis in my left hand and wrist and am recovering from heart surgery. First I had to clean our years of packed in dust from the cloth bag; the old filler hose had split; then I had great difficulty installing the cable tie due to my conditions. After all that, my vacuum is now working like new (45 years old!) again. Thank you E-Replacement parts for making that happen, and thank you Kirby for making such a durable product.

Works perfectly
The "Disposable Bag Fill Tube" and twist tie were a necessary purchase, since my Kirby vacuum cleaner fill tube dry rotted out after 31 years of solid use. The vacuum cleaner is working once again, hopefully for another 31 years. The order process was easy and I was kept informed of its progress. I am very satisfied.
