Description:
This authentic replacement part is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer for use on Murray and Snapper walk-behind lawn mowers. The cable stops the blade when the control handle is released. If the cable is broken it will cause the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. Keep in mind this high-quality rubber insulated component is sold individually. Refer to the owner's manual and the appropriate diagrams for your model to ensure the correct repair procedure.

Old cable rusted and broke. Lever would not work to start mower
Replaced cable assembly. Worked properly had to pry open metal holder to put new cable in.

Cable wire for automatic release bar that kills the engine broke after 7 years.
Removed it with needle nose pliers and popped the new one on.

Removed and replaced blade control cable with OME cable from e replacement. Adjust kill switch

Cable was broken, Needed to be replaced
The part received was identical to the broken part. I just snapped off the broken one and snapped on the new one and cable tied the new cable to the handle. Very simple repair.

Cable Bail broke
Removed old cable bail and use screw driver and rubber hammer to lock cable bail to handle.

Could Not Start/Stop mower due to broke control cable
1. Remove cable ties holding cable onto handle
2..Cut old cable for easier removal
3. Remove z-bend cable end from handle end
4. Use screwdriver to pry off cable clamp
5. Unsnap cable retainer on throttle assembly with pliers
6. Remove z-bend cable end from throttle assembly
7. Re-install new cable in reverse order - easy!

Stretched cable
I just started at the top of the mower and took the old cable of and put the new cable on the handle, then removed it from the handle, and put the new one on the handle. Then took the bottom of the cable out of the bracket and installed the new in the same place.

1. Remove old sleeve from mower
2. Put new cable and sleeve on mower handle.
3. Attached both ends of cables to mower.

    The new throttle cable installed eazy but it was not 100% of the problem (or the problem at all). Turns out the carburetor just needed to be cleaned out and the part bought was a waste of money. But on the bright side I don't have to worry about that being an issue in the near future.
