Product Information
Description:
This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with DeWalt, and Black and Decker power tools. Carbon brushes are considered a wear item because they are in constant contact with the spinning armature. Worn brushes can cause a lower level or performance, or cause the power tool to stop working altogether. Most power tools with a good amount of use will require the brushes to be replaced at some point. These brushes will come in a pair, and the pair is sold individually. |

the on-off switch failed in the "on" position
Removed the rear housing and power cord.
Thru away old housing and switch
Installed new brush set, new switch and new rear housing.
The instructions need to be improved to show how the original brass can be removed and discarded. This step and the information was not complete and the thought of removing the old connectors had be terrified that I was going to ruin the grinder for good. I used diagonal cutters to grad the old connectors and wiggled them out. The brass ends on the new switch and brushes fit in perfectly.

Wouldn't run
Removed back two halves of grinder and held up brush holders with tooth pick. Pulled brushes and leads out and put in new bushes, removed tooth picks and reassembled.
Note:
Paddle handle pivots between the two halves.
Be careful splitting the two halves. The paddle pivots in sockets in the sides.

Saved my made in USA grinder
The brushes fit perfect. Put new life into my vintage Black & Decker grinder that is old enough that it was made in the USA.

Worked great
The brushes were not exactly like the ones removed the plug in ends were not the slip on type.the directions read ...pull out the ends in the stator and slid in new ends...cannot pull out the female ends because they are soldered in place,I had to cut the ends and put a new male end in place.it worked .
