Product Description ?

Genuine Dewalt replacement part, this item is sold individually.
This part contains the Brush Holder,Brush Spring and Brush.
It is used on all of the tools listed below.
It is always best to replace both brushes, even if only one is worn.

Worn brushes frequently are the cause behind a motor running poorly.
Replacing brushes can fix a motor that’s operating intermittently.
New brushes can restore a motor’s electric braking.

Carbon brushes are one of the most commonly replaced power tool parts. This is because carbon brushes are wear items, meaning that through friction and use they will gradually wear away until they need replacing. Worn brushes are a common causes of intermittent motor function, reduced electric braking and reduced motor power. A worn-out brush will often be worn down near to the wire lead and can be cracked, pitted, or burned. When replacing carbon brushes, be sure to inspect your armature for burns, cracks, or other damage which can indicate larger motor problems.

  • Exactly the part I needed.
Taking apart a older Dewalt cordless drill is a pain ! They built it strong, but with tons of screws holding it together. Once I got past all of that, the brushes went in easy. I don't know if it's me ? But my drill felt stronger after the installation.

Simply remove the Torx screws and separate the 2 halves of the drill. Then unplug electrical connection from each brush and then remove the brush holders from the drill with needle nose pliers. Place new brushes in the drill and reconnect the electrical wires.. Then join the 2 halves of the drill back together and reinstall and tighten the Torx screws.

Note: Be careful when ordering your parts to place close attention to the shape of the brush holder, as the 2 brushes are different. in the Dewalt drill, and possibly many other brands..

The 2 things I like about replacement parts is the accuracy of the pictures of the parts on their site, and also their prices.

Hi, work @ Teton Mountaineering in Jackson WY. Part of my job involves adjusting bindings for customers' rental ski/bindings. Our 2 old 12v. DeWalt quit; one was smoking and someone tossed it out(!). I ordered brushes from e.replacements on my time/dime and got the other DeWalt going. I usually do construction so I know the care of cordless units. Don't throw them away! Thanks for the great service and extensive items in stock. David
