This is an authentic OEM sourced replacement brush cap, it is specially designed for use with Ridgid planers. The purpose of the cap is to secure the carbon brush in the tool, it has external threads that hold it in the housing. Be careful when removing and replacing these, as they do have a tendency to break or simply get lost. This item is made of high-quality plastic and it is sold individually, you will need a flat-head screwdriver in order to secure or remove it.
