Product Description ?

This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed for use with Ridgid planer. This assembly includes one (1) carbon brush with a lead wire and a spring attached.

Carbon brushes are a commonly replaced part on power tools. Due to normal use and friction brushes will gradually wear down and will require replacement. It is advised to replace both brushes at the same type.

You would need a screwdriver to complete this job.

• Make sure the unit is unplugged
• First remove the brush caps
• Take our old brushes and replace them with the new ones
• Secure brush caps and test the tool

The brush for the Rigid model planer I have are no longer available. The brushes ordered were very slightly over sized. I filed the brushes down to where they easily slid into the machine. The planer works like new.

Removed screw cap for brushes removed old brushes cleaned out socket with can air, installed brushes. One had to be filed so I used a flat file and lightly rubbed the brush material on all sides until it fit back in the socket. I used the old set as a guide to get the proper size. Once reassembled I plugged the planer in and it worked fine.
