Product Description ?

Genuine Ridgid replacement part.

• Worn brushes are often the cause of a poorly running motor
• Replacing brushes can fix an intermittent motor
• Parts are sold individually
• New brushes can restore a motor’s electric braking

Carbon motor brushes are one of the most commonly replaced power tool components.  Because carbon brushes are wear items, meaning that through friction and use they will gradually wear away, they will eventually require replacement.  Worn brushes are common causes of intermittent motor function, reduced electric braking, and reduced motor power.  A worn out brush will often be worn down near the wire lead and may be cracked, pitted, or burned.  When replacing carbon brushes, be sure to also inspect your armature for burns, cracks, or other damage which indicates a larger motor problem.

    Solved the Problem
I spent $100 on a Rigid trim router. After three years (and 2 months out of warranty) it had a major problem - it stopped working. Rigid suggested it may be the brushes and the tech was right. The replacements came in just as eReplacementparts pictured on the website. That actually was a big help. The one thing I would suggest is that they send replacement instructions for some of the parts they send. I didn't need it for these but for more complicated things, it may be helpful and also increase their sales.

    I was disappointed
So I ordered this brush for my router and it didn't say it's only one brush not a set. So when I got it it was only one, and I have work to be done. I tried to order another one but the shipping is too much I already paid $18 for the first order and now if I want another one I have to pay another $18 that's $36 for brushes. The router is only $100 !!! And also I tried to return it, but it will cost me $7 .

Dissembled the router, I removed the brushes and used a bearing puller to remove the bearings. Cleaned the armature up to get the carbon off armature I then put a small amount of 3 in 1 oil on the bearing journals . Reassembled in reverse order pretty straight forward project.
Parts where exact fit! Very good response time.
