This is a genuine Lawn Boy part to be used in walk-behind lawn mowers. The cable-brake attaches to the handle control and engages or disengages the mower blade. It may become detached or broken and can be replaced with this authentic part. If the cable is damaged the blade will not rotate and the mower will not be operational. Took screw's from drive cover over spring and clutch unhooked spring, pulled spring through cover then replaced spring through cover and hooked back on lever put screws, back in cover threaded cable up the handle and re attached to swing handle.
Next I installed brake cable making sure cable was on

1. Removed the old cable.
2. Installed the new cable.
3. Secured the new cable to the mower handle with a nylon tie wrap.
Job finished in about 15 minutes!
