Front torque bracket broke on hydrostatic transmission
1. Remove mower deck
2. Jack up mower chassis a couple inches and put on jack stands
3. Removed rear wheels.
4. Disconnect shift lever cotter pin from transmission
5. Remove front bracket mount from chassis, one 1/2" bolt each side
6. Removed side bracket bolts, two on each side
7. Drop transmission being careful to pull override lever through slot at mower rear
8. Take out the 2 1/2" torque bracket bolts. In my case one bolt had sheared and had to be drilled out of transmission housing
9. NOTE***Replacement torque bracket had to be threaded where it attaches to the bracket that mounts to the mower frame. To do this easily I used a DeWalt 5/16"-in-18 drill tap bit. The replacement bolts threaded into the bracket perfectly.
10. Reassembled and continued mowing

Must have hit something HARD years ago and more recently. Reverse slowed down years ago and a week ago the mower quit moving all together.
Removed the cross member
Removed the transaxle
Welded the transaxle mounts
Took the ordered plate and mounted to the BOTTOM side of the transaxle, since one of the 2 bolts sheared on the top side.
Reassembled and it drove better than it has in YEARS.
Good luck
