Needed to replace assembly as rubber flapper in nozzle became clogged up. During cleaning broke out flapper, must replace bowl assembly to have a new attached flapper. Flapper prevents particles from falling out of nozzle after sucking into bowl. New bowl assembly exactly as original, easy install, remove screws from housing, pull apart vacuum, pop out old bowl assembly, snap in new bowl assembly, set in on/off switch correctly. screw 2 housing parts back together, ready to go. Shipping quick, web site and check out fine.

In order to install the check valve I had to replace the entire Bowl assembly. It wasn't too complicated, just removing the screws to separate the housing, then removing the Bowl assembly. Once removed, the new Bowl assembly set right in. Just a little tricky putting the two housing halves back together, then reinstalling the screws. Done. Now debris isn't falling out when folding up for storage.

Refer to the parts diagram for blow-up of the Black and Decker hand-vac. Remove all the screws that hold the two halves of the vacuum. Pay attention to the power switch so you remember how to reinsert it, but it's not complicated. Remove the old bowl. It snapped into the ring so you may need to gently pry it out with a screwdriver. Snap the new bowl in and re-assemble the two halves.
