This is an OEM Poulan Carburetor Intake Boot used on gas trimmers to connect carburetor to a carburetor-adapter. This part is made out of Rubber. Over time rubber material can dry out and crack. If this part is warped, cracked or damaged it needs to be replaced for the unit to operate properly.

    Removed the trimmer carb cover. Removed the air filter plate. Removed the failed air intake boot. Installed the new boot and reassembled. Trimmer runs well now! Thank you.

    Unit was left in the barn for a few years and would not start.

    Removed air cleaner and removed the old fuel lines and removed the 2 carburetor hold down nuts and removed the carburetor and un hooked the throttle cable from the carburator and pulled the carburator boot from the motor and then reversed the removal process to put it all back together and then installed new fuel lines and filter in the unit, pumped up the fuel system after filling fuel tank with fresh fuel/oil mix.

    Replaces the ignition coil, new carborator ,fuel lines,fuel filter,spark plug and also air filter. A little fine ajusting on the carborator. Tuning very well with a lot of more power to cut and trim trees.

    Disassembled cowl to access engine
    removed carb
    found boot adapter to be cracked and leaking
    order new parts
    replaced boot and filter then reassembled all .
