    Unplug the planer from the receptacle, remove the top of the planer using the supplied torx wrench, remove thumb screw bolts(3) replaced with the purchased thumb screw bolts. Replaced the top cover and screw in the torx bolts and plug planer back into the receptacle.

    Saw dust filling inside of dw735 planer. Blower had a large hole on back side

    Cracked dust shroud and due for new brushes

    Removed old carbon brushes with screwdriver, replaced the dust shroud and its adapter and reinstalled dust shroud with the new bolts.

    Bad brush, broken bolt

    The brush replacement is tricky, if you're not careful you'll lose the parts down inside and have to take it way apart to get them back. Also it's tricky getting the little spring lined up correctly. This could be a two hour job if you screw it up, but if you do it right, it's just a few minutes. Replacing the red rod that holds the shroud inside is 5 minutes, but don't over tighten or you'll just break the new one, this should be more durably constructed with thicker plastic holding the nut
