Improvements to Our Tool Parts Diagrams

Posted by on December 8, 2008    |    Leave a reply

Everything we do here at eReplacementparts is centered around making tool repairs as easy as possible, and our latest feature is a huge step in that direction. Our site now lets you click any number on a parts diagram to be taken directly to the part you need for your power tool. Parts are easier to find since you don’t have to search through the page, and ordering is much cleaner.

We also show you all the information you need right on the diagram so you can quickly and accurately figure out what you need. The part number, name, picture, price and availability are displayed right there for you when you move your mouse over each number.

Click on the DC987 parts page to see a live example of this addition. You will notice that when you click on a part, it will take you down to the parts list and highlight the part you are looking at in red. You can click the back button to easily go back to the parts diagram.

This feature isn’t available on most tools yet, but we’re working hard on applying it to as many tools as possible. It’s a pretty long process, but it’s worth the extra effort to make our site more user-friendly. This is something we’ve wanted to implement for a long time, and we’re pretty excited about finally being able to do it.

Hitachi Parts

Posted by on October 21, 2008    |    Leave a reply

Just a quick update to let you know that Hitachi parts are now available on eReplacementparts.com. They are best known for their nail guns, compressors, and hammers. They have come out very aggressively with many new cordless tools as well. We are just adding the last few tools to our site, so you should be able to find parts for just about everything that they support. Of course, let us know if you have a tool that you cannot find on our website.

Our stock will not be very large to begin with, but it will grow with time. You can check what we have in our warehouse by looking at the parts listing for each individual tool. If a part is not in stock, we will be happy to special order it for you. That just means that it will take an extra 5-10 business days to reach us before we are able to ship it out to you.

We have also added many Hitachi accessories to our website that are available for purchase. We now carry Hitachi brand saw blades, batteries, grinding wheels, drill bits and many other items for your tools. If you want to know if an accessory fits a certain tool, just check the tool page directly, and it will show a list of what will fit.

We only sell genuine Hitachi parts that come directly from the manufacturer, so you don’t have to worry about the quality.

Dustbuster Parts Now Available

Posted by on August 4, 2008    |    Leave a reply

We have added the Black and Decker Dust Buster line to our site. The Dustbuster brand portable cordless vacuums have been an extremely popular and very successful line for Black and Decker. They have been around for a long time. Many of the parts for these small cordless vacs are still available from Black and Decker, so we have added a place for them on our website.

Over time, there are two main things that will affect the performance of these useful vacuums:

1) The filters will become clogged and less effective. The job of the filter is to trap as much dust and dirt as possible, so it doesn’t get blown right out of the other side of the vacuum. These filters do such a great job that over time the smallest particles decrease the possible airflow and hence the performance of the dust buster vacuum. You can clean these filters by shaking them out, or some are even designed to be washed in water (not all of them, check your owners manual.) Ultimately, the filter will have to be replaced to maintain peak performance. We now carry an extensive line of filters for your hand held Dustbuster, so you can easily replace your filter.

2) The other thing that deteriorates over time is the battery pack. This is not due to bad design or faulty materials, it is just simply a fact of life with batteries. They are rated for a certain amount of cycles, and after time they become less and less effective. If you have a dustbuster and it wont hold a charge, or it shows a serious lack of power, replacing the battery will very often solve the problem.

If you have a dustbuster model that you do not find on our website, give us a call at 1-866-802-6383 or Contact Us Here.

Salt Lake City Power Tool Repair

Posted by on July 29, 2008    |    Leave a reply

We sell tool parts. Our goal is to be the best tool parts website on the internet. A short while back, we decided that in order to serve the needs of our customers long term, we would need to get involved in the local tool repair business. So we joined forces with A1 Industrial Tools and Service, a Salt Lake City, UT based repair center.

A1 Industrial has been in the tool repair business for many years. A1 Industrial was already an authorized Makita Service Center, and an Authorized Bosch Service Center. This move has given us the chance to take an experienced repair technician, and combine it with a large power tool parts inventory. We hope this will increase turn around time because we will stock many of the parts needed for repairs. We are located in the Sandy area, but we will do service for anyone nearby.

We set up a new website here: Salt Lake City tool repair. Please take a look, and give us a call for your repair needs.

Ridgid Parts Online!

Posted by on July 24, 2008    |    Leave a reply

Quite a few people have been asking for Ridgid parts over the last several years. It has taken us awhile, but they are now available for purchase. We are very excited to offer this line of power tool parts, and we think that it will help a lot of our existing customers.

Most people know about the older Ridgid plumbing tools and shop vacs.

(They are great tools, and vacuums by the way.) We do not currently sell parts for these tools, as they are seperate from the electric power tool division. They are sold by Ridge Tool which in owned by Emerson. This is actually where the original brand name of Ridgid comes from, as they have been in business sonce 1923. We are looking in to the possibility of selling parts for the vacuums in the future.

We do sell parts for their power tool line. This includes drills, saws, grinders, impact drivers, planers, jointers, nailers, sanders, and routers.

Many people associate Ridgid power tools with the Home Depot brand. In is commonly thought that Ridgid is a Home Depot house brand, but this is not correct.

The plumbing tools have been traditionally offered as a high end tool for the professional contractor and tradesman. The power tool line is aimed a little more for the high end home use and for lighter end contractor use. I don’t mean this in a bad way, but these tools were definitely not aimed for the highest end of the professional contractor market.

We are a newly authorized Ridgid service center, so we do not have a lot of experience with repairing these tools. As we get more of them in for repair, we will let you know our thoughts. Whether it be good or bad, we will try to offer an honest viewpoint of what we like about them and what we do not like about them.

As always please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions.
