Question: Replacement Blades

Shannon

Why would you continue to sell a product, but discontinue replacement parts for it? I love my scissors, but now the blades are dull, and the tool is useless. I'm not going to buy a new one every time my blades dull. I'm going to buy a different brand that offers replacement parts. What a joke, and a ripoff. Black and Decker has lost a customer.

I resharpen the blades. You have to disassemble the cutter and sharpen the upper and lower blades separately on a small belt sander like a dremel. I cut the belt in half so that it is the same width as the cutting edge of the blade.

I bought a couple of these units about Sept of 08. I used them on and off thru Christmas 08 then they were not used after that. I brought them back out to use for Christmas 09 but neither will work. I put them both on the charger but no go. Any idea why they won't work?

Question: Battery/charger Problems

tom van egtern

My scissors are 11 months old. For the last 6 months they will not hold a charge. I don't know for sure if it is a battery or charger. What I do know for sure is that this is not the quality you would expect from Black & Decker. The scissors did not cut good the few months they where working!

If you are near a Biglots, they have the whole outfit now on clearance for $8.00 ($19.99 at Walmart). I bought a total of 14 of them. As far as the blades they can be touched up with scissor sharpeners, if you take the blades apart with a small (#1) Phillips screwdriver. Remove the end from body first. Watch when you take the 2 sides apart, ( hold both sides together firmly while removing screws because it has a spring on a shaft--just slowly let the pressure off when taking the 2 sides apart. Notice how the blades are oriented and remove them off of the small shaft. Then gently pull them through scissor sharpeners several times making sure you keep angle on blades same as the ceramic sticks angle on the sharpener. I know this sounds like its more trouble than its worth, but after you do it once , it take less than 5 minutes. The reason I know about this is we run a drapery/ sewing shop and professional cutters are around $100 bucks and they aren't cordless. I now can keep mine sharp. Hope this helps.... Mike

I have a sz360 but lost the dc charger. Can I buy just the charger?
An excellent way to cut large amounts of items, all kinds of material, and in fastest time imaginable. I belong to the vfd aux. and have used this for many projects to earn funds for the fire station. I will not ever be without it and all my friends agree.
