The spool cap disntegrated from use.
Insert the line from the spool through the eyelets and press the spool into the cap, then press the assembly onto the trimmer. Please note that a lever does come with the cap. I ordered a lever, so it will now be a spare

Does the above blade fit on GH710 Black and Decker Electric String Trimmer

Hello 90560172,

The part number 5104192-01 Line Limiter Blade is not compatible with the Black and Decker GH710 String Trimmer. You would need to order part number 90560172 Guard Assembly. It has the line limiter blade built in to it.

Hello 1317123,

Here are the instructions to wind the spool on the Black and Decker GH710 Type 1.

Remove the empty spool from the tool. First wind the new line onto the uppermost part of the spool. Feed 3/4 inch of cutting line into one of the anchoring slots. Wind the cutting line onto the spool in the direction of the arrow on the spool. Make sure to wind the line on neatly and in layers. Do not crisscross. When the wound line reaches the cut outs on the top of the pool cut the line. Temporarily hook the line in the slots on the side of the spool. Repeat the above for the lower section of the spool. Use only .065 guage cutting line.

If you want to make it a bit easier you can order the part number 90517175 Spool & Line. And just replace it with the old one and your ready to go.

Question: Remove Spool From Cover

How do you remove spool from cover
terib
Question: Bearings

terib

I love this trimmer, but I used it an area too thick for it to handle. It lost some power and dropping small bearings. It's turning too slow to cut and just spools out more line. Are there replacement parts available?

Reply: Bearings

WJA

Hello terib,

The manufacture does not supply the internal parts of the motor, where the bearings would be located. I don't know if it is even possible to get inside the motor assembly to try to replace the bearing yourself anyway. It may be time to look at a new trimmer. The only parts available are shown on the parts diagram of the model. If you click on the model below you will see what parts are available.

Question: GH710 Trimmer/Edger

renzl51

The line supplied for this machine (.65) is way too thin and causes it to spit the line out like crazy. I went thru 2 $7.50 spools witin 15 feet of initial use. You should increase the line size to at least .80 so that we don't spend a fortune on line for this machine. All reviews I have read have to same complaint.
