    Remove the screws from the blade binders and remove the blades
    Lay the blades on the cutterhead and screw on the new blade binders
    Adjust the blades

    Make a mark on the side and the front of the blade and cutter head that has the bent binder.Remove the bolts from the bent blade binder and remove it. Place the new binder on the blade, making sure the marks line up. Then install the bolts in the new binder and tighten.

    Blade binder spring broke

    Removed the blade bolts with a socket.
    Cleaned the blade head.
    Installed 2 new blade binders and blades.
    Checked with blade jigs.
    Tightened blade bolts.
    They dont make tools like they use to so I am happy to repair my 30 year old Dewalt planer.

    Blade binder bolts loosened, sheared off bolt heads. Centrifugal force bent blade and binder.

    Bent blade binder and broken tensioner spring

    1.Removed dust port Exposing Cutterhead
    2. Removed bolts from blade binder
    3.Removed bent blade binder and the 2 screws from bottom side of binder that holds tensioner spring in place.
    4. Removed cutting blades to inspect and sharpen.
    5. Reinstalled blades, new blade binder and tensioner sping
    6. Cleaned dust port with alcohol where the dust seals go
    7. Installed new dust seals using gel super glue and let sit for 15 minutes before reinstalling dust port
    8. Tested unit and everything ran great.

    bolt not fastened down enough broke and bent many parts

    Blade binder came loose. Sheared off a bolt head. And bent the binder.

    1. Remove tool tray. Two allen wrench bolts.
    2. Rotate blade head to Lock blades automatically .
    3. Remove blade binder. All bolts
    4. Remove wire binder.
    5. Replace wire binder on new binder
    6. Install new blade and binder, ensure binder wire is under tension.
    7. Replace tool tray, ensure auto blade lock is released.
    8. Turn on planer and cross your fingers!
