    Screwdriver, Wrench Set, None

    1) remove three star drive screws attaching the sanding sanding pad to the bearing holder and remove the pad
    2) remove the star drive screw and washer that holds the bearing housing to the motor shaft. If required, keep the shaft from turning by placing a screwdriver into the fan assembly via the dust port.
    3) remove the bearing housing and bearing from the shaft. If reusing the housing, gently pry the two halves apart to remove the bearing.
    4) place the new bearing in the housing, being careful to align the screw holes. Gently tap the bearing housing together, ensuring the halves close evenly.
    5) reassemble in reverse order.

    Removed the hook and loop pad retainer
    Unscrewed the center screw for bearing
    Pressed new bearing into both sides of new retainer using c clamp
    Screwed bearing retainer together. Note: bearing retainer screw holes are unthreaded, you cut threads in them when you screw the screws in.
    Screwed bearing back onto shaft
    Put brake and pad retainer back on

    1. watched several u tube videos on how to fix
    2. removed sanding pad to confirm accessibility of parts needed then ordered parts
    3. removed and replaced bearing and retainer
    4. redid *3 because screw holes on bearing retainer halves did not line up exactly
    5. reassembled and tested. checks ok

    Bearing retainer screw worked it self loose and stripped out

    Removed sander housing and pad to access bearing and retainer. Read other people’s experiences changing this part(very helpful). Carefully started self tapping screws and used a little thread cutting oil. Went together very smoothly

    1. Removed the old bearing retainer and retainer that the sanding pad attaches to.
    2. Tapped the press-fit bearing out of the retainer using a wrench socket of the right size.
    3. Tapped the bearing into the new retainer.
    4. Attached the new retainer and bearing retainer to the sander.
    5. Attached the replacement sander pad. Sander is now just like new.
