This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with Makita orbital sanders. The aluminum bearing box cover houses the lower bearing, and brake ring. A screwdriver is required to install the bearing box cover. Two bearing box covers are required, please note they are sold individually.

2. Placed the bearing box cover in place over the bearing box and put the rubber sanding pad on top of it, aligning the 3 holes, then reinstalled the 3 screws.
3. Holding the sander out-of-line from my body and face, turned it on to make sure it wasn't going to fly apart on me. Worked fine.
Bearing cover blew off with old disk.

2. Installed new parts. Trickiest move is getting three mount holes to line up while holding sander upside down between legs. Once you get one placed, the other two are easy.
3. Tested - works like new.
Somehow I'd lost this part when I'd replaced the disc holder, which had lost its little loops to hold onto the sandpaper discs.
