It is a genuine item which is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Echo backpack blowers. This is the special base for the purge bulb. The purge bulb allows a user to pump the fuel into the carburetor, once it is full the excess fuel is sent back to the tank through the return line. Keep in mind this high-quality item is sold individually. Check the diagrams for your model to ensure the correct repair procedure.

Echo backpack blower did not start at all

1. Removed carburetor, disassembled it, and cleaned with spray carb cleaner.
2. Installed new gaskets, diaphragm, etc., and re-assembled carburetor. (I bought new purge base because the rubber check valves inside can sometimes go bad.)
3. Replaced fuel lines and fuel filter. (Lines are long and are two different diameters.)(Lines enter tank through special rubber plug.)
4. Cleaned spark plug.
5. Installed new paper air filter.
6. Poured in pre-mixed fuel and pumped primer 10+ times.
7. Took several cranks, but it runs well now. Didn't even have to adjust the High & Low mix screws.

The primer bulb would not fill with gas.

I removed the carburetor with the purge base and took out the 4 screws in the purge base.
The primer bulb was good so it was put on the new purge base and reversed the steps to put it back together.
