Master Woodcrafter: eReplacement comes through again, and again.
I had just temporarily finished using my Bosch jigsaw on a project and laid it on the bench. To my surprise, before I even turned away the saw fell off and hit the concrete floor. At first, I thought no harm. When I picked it up the right leg of the base plate was broken off and just hanging. This saw is about 15 years old and I have always counted on eReplacement for shop tool parts. Once again they came through with the exact part at a very reasonable price. They will always be my first source.

My Bosch is back in business
I had dropped my Bosch jig saw but didn't notice any damage. As I used it later I noticed it didn't seem to sit flat on the piece I was sawing. Only much later did I realize I'd cracked the aluminum casting which is the base plate. Finding this part was easy as pie and it arrived a day early. One hex bolt and 4 screws later my saw was flat and running smooth.

Questions & Answers for Base Plate

Will the base plate for the 1587avs fit the 1587vs? I was looking for a replacement for the single part all metal design but saw and liked the 2 part design for the avs. Thanks in advance.
Jim for model number 1587vs asked on 2022-04-15
Hello Jim, Thank you for the question. Very sorry, we are not able to cross reference different parts from other models. For more specialized assistance or to speak with someone about this, we would suggest calling Bosch. We hope this helps!

It was a very simple fix. Ordering, and receiving the right part, made the repair even easier. Removing the screws, putting to two pieces together, and re-securing the plate, which took a matter of a few minutes, and we were back in business. A screw driver was the only tool needed. After that, I was making cuts I could be sure of.
