The air baffle was melted, the heat sensor looked burnt, the switch was sticky and replaced the electronic board and brushes for good measure
This tool comes apart very easy. Take out the screws and disconnect the cord from the switch box, making note of which wires go where. There are two white and two black...white and black in from the power cord, white and black out and their locations are specific. Getting the electronic board and switch modules out isn't tricky, but its in there pretty good and you'll think if feels like it might break. Just take a close look at it and you'll the two plastic tabs you have to lift up to get it all out. Pay attention to how the rest comes apart, where the wires are run, including the heat sensor and put it back the same way. When you go to take off the gear box, you'll have to remove the safety shroud and adjustment lever, very simple, you'll have no problem with it. All of the screw heads, including the gear box should be torx. I used a T-25 I think to get them all in and out. Be patient when you're putting it back together and make sure you don't pinch any wires between the two plastic housing halves. Good luck!
