Remember to get the right belt for your Delta TP305 planer

Replacing the Belt

1. Remove the side cover

Remove the two side screws that secure the cover. Then remove the cover from the planer, being careful not to break the cursor.

2. Remove the upper belt cover

Remove the two screws that hold the upper belt cover to the planer, then set it aside.

3. Remove the belt

Work the belt slowly off of each pulley, a few grooves at a time. Then feed the belt through the housing near the upper pulley.

4. Install the new belt

Slide the new belt through the housing and work it onto the planer by pushing in on it as you rotate it around each pulley.

5. Replace the upper belt cover

Set the upper belt cover back into place and tighten the screws.

6. Replace the side cover

Slide the side cover back into position, then tighten the screws to finalize the repair.
